And not from coffee.
At 10am pacific time today, the California Supreme Court will release their ruling on Proposition 8. (Ruling will be available here among a million other news sources.)
While I will be settling in for a nice root canal.
And I forgot my cell phone.
I grant you that J and I were married in Canada, and so it could be argued that the ruling has no direct effect on us and, perhaps, in terms of our marriage and whether it's recognized or not, it doesn't. But this ruling has an effect on every lgbt person in the US, whether they want to be married or not, and on the marriage equality movement as a whole. Perhaps not quite as profound an effect it would have had earlier this year, before Iowa and Vermont, and the actions being taken in New Hampshire and New York. But it's still a big one.
I, as usual, am hoping for the best and expecting the worst.
